EARTH QUAKE IN CHRISTCHURCH

The earthquake in the South Island is the worst in 80 years and has certainly caused extensive damage to he main City Centre and will cost millions if not billions off dollars to fix.

CHRISTCHURCH is the first major city in New Zealand, and boasts some of the oldest structures in the country.  As yet it is not known if any of the main ones, such as the CHRISTCHURCH Cathedral, have any damage. Keep a check here for updates.

Tours will still be operational to the South Island, but we may have to look at other means of getting there, perhaps from Wellington and a very pleasant trip across Cook Strait on the ferry.

We all pray for those in the South, both for their health and their peace of mind during such stressful times.

There were quite a few narrow escapes and only two major injuries, I believe we can thank GOD for the fact it happened at 4-30 in the morning.

If it had happened during the day there would have been many injuries and deaths as well, as the central business district is very busy on Saturday.

At this point I feel it is quite safe to travel to the South Island, but please keep a check on the New Zealand news,  www.tvnz.co.nz  will have all the updates you will need to feel secure about coming here for your vacation.

However, you can feel assured that travelling to the North Island will be safe, and the only shaking you will get here is from your fellow passengers getting excited about the amazing sights we have waiting for you to enjoy.

Happy planning to all .
